Jennifer Timmons Meets Elizabeth Averyhart
I was sitting on a park bench, picking at my fingernails. I wished I had one of those nail clippers, since it did a cleaner job than me picking at them. I always peeled my nails too short and then my fingers hurt; it was also harder to open containers. My lab coat I was wearing I'd only just washed yesterday, so it looked pretty white. It made a nice flapping sound in the wind, and everything was pretty quiet until this girl with bright orange hair walked by, her shoes scuffing the pavement as she went. I remember how annoying the noise was, so I'd looked up to tell her off, but when I saw her face, I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Sometimes alarmingly profound moments of realisation hit you in a flash, like when you're listening to Boyz II Men in your dorm room and thinking back on how you used to be such an angry little shit in junior high that you can barely process the fact that people actually wanted to be friends with you. I was a very angry kid, mostly because I thought that woe was me and didn't understand or process the fact that there are worse things in life than not being popular and not being able to draw. Life has more in it than that, like love, happiness, and pure bliss. They may be unbearably hard to find, and it may take you a long time to realise th

Most people, I don't think, would want to be a third wheel, or even really consider it. They'd probably just drag along another guy, or a friend, or You get my point. Anything but being that weird third person that tagged along and stood off to the side awkwardly while the other two flirted or mad

I mean it, you guys.
I fell in love today.
I watched Dirty Dancing.
And I will one day meet with Patrick Swayze and profess my love to him.
I have fallen in love.
With Patrick Swayze.
I didn't even notice it was Valentine's Day, seriously, I was going to ask my friend if he wanted to hang out
but my mom was like ":I AND WHAT IS THIS"
and I was like "scuse me momma"
and she was like "IT BE VALUMTIMES"
so I was like "Oh."
To be honest, unless I was dating someone (which I once was but no longer am as of like a month ago,) I wouldn't take Valentine's Day into consideration.
Which I don't.
Stupid Hallmark Holidays and ruining my plans for the day.
